The project 4D P.RO. aims to develop a soft, lightweight, and wireless robot capable of autonomous movement thanks to smart materials and 4D printing. The goal is to create an initial prototype suitable for operating in confined spaces or hard-to-reach environments, such as ducts or hazardous areas. The added value of the project lies in the innovative use of Fused Deposition Modelling to “program” the material and achieve precise shape changes. Within the framework of this project, the site was responsible for project management and dissemination activities. Additionally, the evaluation of the printing and robot architecture, printing technologies, and the socio-economic impact of the project were further tasks under the responsibility of the site.
