The Manufacturing Technology and Systems Laboratory of the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio develops sustainable technological solutions for the automotive sector through two key projects. The GreenMOB (Development of Innovative Green Composite Structures for Sustainable Mobility) project aims to produce "green" components using composite materials with a thermoplastic matrix and flax fibers. This innovation enables vehicle lightweighting, reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions while ensuring full end-of-life recyclability. The second project, called Automated Guided Skillet (AGS), modernizes assembly lines by replacing rigid underground platforms with a new above-ground platform that is flexible and guided by AGVs, in accordance with Industry 4.0 paradigms. It utilizes an optimized design that has reduced weight by 200 kg, doubled the walkable surface area, cut costs by 30%, and ensured optimal assembly.
