COURSE FOR LASER SAFETY SUPERVISORS [24 H] (ESPERTO SICUREZZA LASER-I, CEI 76-17 STANDARD)

The Laser Safety Supervisor is the professional responsible for the daily management and supervision of laser safety within the organization in which they are appointed, following the guidance of the ESL-II and the employer. The aim is to ensure the continuous safe use of all systems put in place to guarantee laser safety. This professional does not carry out laser risk assessment but must understand the procedure and be able to interpret its outcomes, to verify that the resulting risk control measures are correctly implemented and remain effective over time.

The training programme consists of 24 hours in which all topics related to laser safety are addressed, with a lower level of detail compared to the ESL-II course.

The topics covered, in summary, concern the fundamentals of laser operation and their interaction with materials and biological tissues, the relevant legislative and regulatory framework (Directive 2006/25/EC; Legislative Decree 81/08; IEC EN CEI 60825 standards, UNI EN ISO 207 and 208 standards; etc.), classification of sources, principles of risk assessment and identification of hazard areas, prevention and protection measures, personal protective equipment, signage, operational procedures and controls. The content is delivered without numerical exercises, with a focus on a practical and managerial approach.

At the end of the programme, the Laser Safety Supervisor will be able to correctly interpret the risk analysis, understand and properly apply the measures defined during the assessment phase, and ensure the operational supervision of activities, maintaining safe conditions over time. This professional represents the reference figure for daily monitoring and the practical implementation of laser safety procedures.

The course will be delivered online for the first 16 hours. The final 8 hours, including a case study and final examination, will take place in person at Politecnico di Milano, Bovisa campus.

The cost of the course is €900 per person.

Prices are exclusive of 22% VAT for non AITeM members.

At the end of the course, subject to passing the final examination, participants will receive a certificate of attendance and successful completion, in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments, in compliance with the applicable regulations.
