COURSE FOR LASER USERS [8 H]
The Laser Operator is the person who uses these devices for a wide range of applications: industrial, research, medical, aesthetic, etc. They must be informed about the risks they are exposed to during their work activity and how to manage hazardous situations involving laser radiation. They must follow the instructions provided by the ESL-I or the ESL-II and by the employer and are required to use the protective equipment assigned to them, for which they have received appropriate training and/or instruction.
The training programme consists of 8 hours of lectures in which the principles of laser safety are presented and the protective devices to be adopted are described.
The topics covered, in summary, concern the basic principles of laser operation, classification of sources and the meaning of the different risk classes, the main effects of exposure on the eyes and skin, risks associated with different applications, prevention and protection measures, personal protective equipment, signage and safe behaviours, as well as operational procedures to be adopted under ordinary and emergency conditions. The content is delivered in a simplified form, with a practical and user-oriented approach.
At the end of the programme, the Laser Operator will be able to recognize the main risks associated with exposure to different classes of lasers, understand the adopted safety measures and correctly apply the required procedures and protective devices. The Laser Operator does not carry out risk assessment activities, but represents an informed user trained to operate safely in compliance with the instructions provided.
The course will be delivered online.
The cost of the course is €300 per person.
Prices are exclusive of 22% VAT for non AITeM members.
At the end of the course, subject to passing the final examination, participants will receive a certificate of attendance and successful completion, in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments, in compliance with the applicable regulations.
