
AITEM LASER SAFETY SCHOOL COURSES
The Laser Safety School (SSL), established within AITEM Academy, offers training services for the industrial, research, telecommunication, and civil sectors, as well as for the healthcare, aesthetic, and veterinary fields.
It provides courses at different levels for Laser Safety Technicians (LST), Laser Safety Officers (LSO), supervisors, and Laser Users.
It aims at serving as a technical and qualified reference point for problem solving activities related to laser safety.

The 8-hour ‘Laser Safety Course for Laser Users’ is aimed at personnel of companies and/or research organisations working with class 1 laser products/machines (products/machines with embedded lasers, class 1 engineering type), 1M and 2M (only if used with optical instruments), 3R invisible, 3B and 4. It enables Operators to acquire the necessary knowledge to control the risks caused by lasers and avoid possible harm (Chapter V of Title VIII of Legislative Decree 81/08 as amended). The training course of the ‘Laser Safety Course for Laser Users’ complies with the information and training provisions of Legislative Decree 81/08 as amended (Art. 36 and 37).

- Prevention and protection measures for the user
- Laser radiation eye protectors (PPE): outlines of technical regulations
- Safety of machinery: the UNI EN 11553 standard (outline).
Final learning assessment (30 minutes)
HOW TO REGISTER
The course will be activated if a minimum number of 8 participants is reached.
The maximum number of participants is limited to 25.
The deadline for registration is Thursday 10 July 2025..
Participants will receive an email confirming the activation of the course as soon as the minimum number of registrations is reached, and no later than Friday 11 July 2025.
The registration cost is €300, plus 22% VAT for non AITEM members.
