PERMANET is a project funded by the European Union that aims to establish an innovative network of EU actors to ensure a resilient supply of rare earth permanent magnets (REE PM) in Europe. Within the project, Politecnico di Milano plays a dual role: it is responsible for the extraction and mechanical processing of permanent magnets from end-of-life products, and it coordinates the Hub to produce permanent magnets to meet European demand.
