The newly established Sustainable Manufacturing Lab at NOI Techpark in Brunico is a hub for research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in sustainable industrial systems. Its mission is to support local manufacturing companies in transitioning toward environmentally responsible, resource-efficient, and resilient operations. The lab focuses on key areas such as energy-efficient production, circular economy approaches, decarbonization, and socially sustainable manufacturing strategies. Working in close collaboration with regional industry partners, the lab is strongly connected to Automotive Excellence SouthTyrol (AES), an innovation cluster of automotive suppliers. Since its founding by Prof. Erwin Rauch in 2023, the lab has grown to a team of 15 members, largely supported through industry collaborations and international third-party research funding.
