Manuthon® returns for its fourth edition

Manuthon® returns with its 2026 edition, taking place on 8-9 May in Florence, hosted by the University of Florence at The Social Hub Belfiore.

Promoted by AITeM, Manuthon® brings the hackathon format into the world of manufacturing, with the goal of fostering creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through real technological challenges.
The initiative is aimed at around 100 university students and young graduates under the age of 32 (bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, and postgraduate programs) from across Italy, who will compete by developing innovative ideas and solutionsin response to challenges proposed by partner companies.

During the event, participants will work in teams in an intensive, nearly two-day non-stop competition, supported by academic and industry mentors, culminating in the final presentation of their projects to a panel of expert judge.

The 2026 edition will involve leading industrial players: Gold Partners —who will present the challenges— include Baker Hughes, Istituto Italiano della Saldatura, Borg (Reuman consortium) and Altform, while Oniro joins as a Silver Partner. Companies will also take part in the judging panel and in mobile teams, supporting participants throughout the development process.

Participation is free of charge, and registration is open via the official website www.manuthon.it. Applicants may register individually or as part of a team.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning groups: €1,500 for the overall first-place team and €1,000 for the winners of each individual challenge.

Manuthon® represents a valuable opportunity to connect with the industrial world, work on real-world problems, and test your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Don’t miss the chance to participate — we look forward to seeing you in Florence!
