REFRESHER COURSE FOR LASER SAFETY OFFICERS (ESL-II) [8 H]

The refresher course for Laser Safety Officers is intended for professionals already qualified as ESL-II. It is aimed at maintaining and updating technical and regulatory competencies in laser safety. The refresher, with a four-year periodicity, is necessary to ensure continuous alignment with developments in regulations, technologies and risk assessment methodologies.

The training programme provides in-depth coverage of legislative and technical updates (with particular reference to CEI, UNI and ISO standards and Legislative Decree 81/08), the evolution of laser sources and applications, as well as updates concerning exposure limits and risk calculation methodologies.

The topics covered, in summary, concern regulatory and technical updates, further development of methodologies for risk assessment and calculation, the evolution of prevention and protection measures (technical, organizational and personal protective equipment), and the analysis of case studies together with discussion of recurring issues in different application fields.

At the end of the programme, the Laser Safety Officer maintains and strengthens the ability to carry out quantitative laser risk analyses, updating tools, models and evaluation criteria, and confirming their role as a technical specialist capable of quantifying risk and correctly defining mitigation measures, in line with the state of the art in technology and regulations.

The course will be delivered online.

The cost of the course is €300 per person.

Prices are exclusive of 22% VAT for non AITeM members. 

At the end of the course, subject to passing the final examination, participants will receive a certificate of attendance and successful completion, in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments, in compliance with the applicable regulations.
