On 10th-11th September 2024, the annual edition of the AITEM Academy Basic Training Course was held at the Department of Engineering of the University of Perugia. This year’s title was “Innovative tools and topics in manufacturing processes and production systems: case study analysis”. The course was mainly intended for young academic research personnel and industrial personnel actively engaged in R&D activities. It aimed to provide an overview of the state of the art on the most innovative tools and topics in the area of manufacturing processes and production systems, focusing on the most current investigation methods and techniques, as well as on the methods of organizing the research itself.
The course presented the main topics dealt with by AITEM’s Sezioni which, representing the bridge between the Association and the Italian industry, develop and disseminate the most advanced knowledge in sectors considered strategic in manufacturing research activities. The interventions were made by professors and researchers engaged in research activities carried out by the Sezioni. A significant part of the sessions was dedicated to the discussion of case studies, which enabled a more in-depth analysis of the topics.
Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about a simulation software tool, Deform, provided by EcoTre Valente srl and for which a temporary use license was issued to each of them.
In addition to the analysis of case studies, two other new features to this year’s edition were well appreciated by participants: the parallel sessions, which enabled a more exhaustive focus on themes of personal interest, and the participation to the AITEM 2024 Workshop in the afternoon of the first day.
See you at the Bari 2025 edition!
