The 3rd edition of Manuthon®, the first Italian Hackathon on manufacturing promoted by AITEM, took place on April 19th and 20th, 2024, hosted by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, at the Reggio Emilia campus.
Here are the numbers: 5 were the companies that supported the event (Gold: 76 Industrial Graphics, Nikon SLM Solutions, 5G Timber; Silver: Sacmi Innovation Lab, Vimi Fasteners), and 90 were the students from 12 university campuses across Italy who accepted the challenge. They tested their skills on high-level challenges proposed by the 3 Gold companies, exploring the complexity of the manufacturing sector and demonstrating their competencies.
The first prize was claimed by the MeccaNetici team, composed of students from the University of Palermo (Emanuele Cedrato, Riccardo Alighieri, Nicolò Francesco Maria Spingola, Giuseppe Damiata, Simone Amantia). The group brilliantly tackled the challenge proposed by 76 Industrial Graphics.
The Inventors team, originating from the Universities of Padua, Modena and Reggio Emilia, and Calabria, consisting of Paolo Nalato, Luca Zannini, Mohamed Salim Zoglate, Erika Regina, and Teresa Isabelli, emerged victorious in the challenge presented by Nikon SLM Solutions.
The victory in the challenge proposed by the 5G Timber consortium was awarded to the TechniCAL group, composed of Emanuele Macrì, Umile Magarò, Francesco Lupinacci, and Vincenzo Pugliese, hailing from the University of Calabria.
